New Member w/ SS - Fender bulge question

Hi all – I’m a new member to LS1.com but not new to the F-Body. I just picked up my latest SS last week – a 2001 Blue SS M6 car with 35k miles on it. Prior to this I have owned a Red 2001 SS convertible A4, a 2001 Z28 A4, and a 1995 Z28 A4. I picked this latest 4th gen a state away in Illinois for a great price and it’s driven / performed flawlessly so far. One of the reasons I picked this car is the mileage, a clean CARFAX, and absolutely no modifications (I prefer to be the only person who mods the car ).

That being said, when it arrived at my home I noticed an anomaly with the fenders on both the drivers and passenger side – they bulge slightly at the bottom. I ran the car by a local body shop who is going to repair a minor scratch in the paint for me and they said it didn’t look like it had body work done on it before or had been in a collision.

I was hoping to get some opinions on here as to how both fenders could be in this condition and what the best course is to fix them. Though I did buy this car for cash and plan to daily drive it (its far more fuel efficient than my Jeep SRT8), I would like improve its appearance so the door-to-fender lines are clean. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!!

Look for a bolt at the bottom of the fender. Idiots use the tab it jack it up a lot of time time and it "Pooches" the fenders out. Take out the bolt and bend the bracket back carefully and it should suck it back up tight....

It might needed to be completely adjusted as well.

I would like to see that one . Anyway just check under the fender and see if the fasteners came out, that was the case on my buddy's.

Or it could be like mine and when that Ahole jacked the car up under that fender tab it actually broke the plastic tab that attaches to the fender. I cleaned up the fender real good with brake cleaner and let dry. Then I used super glue or try that new gorilla glue to re-attach the fender tab.
Good luck, oh and real pretty car love the color. And those miles 35k, thought mine was low.

So the fender tab is broken? What is this about a 2005 Mustang?

That's completely not right to have a SS Camaro and a 05 Mustang, but if you must please don't bring it up, there's sites for that and support groups you can go to, LOL

So far just listen to the info above and you should be fine. I just wanted to say you have one beautiful SS. The mileage just makes it that much nicer as well.
