You don't need any mods to smoke a Mustang GT, you can do that stock assuming the GT is stock.

Most people will do these mods first:

    Power adders:
    Exhaust
    Air Lid
    TB bypass
    Headers
    Stall if A4

    Suspension:
    sub-frame connectors

    Check out this site.

Lastly, welcome to the forum and post up some pics.

Are you an auto or M6?

The only way I see you losing is if you:
    a) miss a shift
    b) fall asleep

Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

ok so here is what you do. its kinda tricky. you line your cars up. now when some one says go then you step on the gas. not to hard or youll spin. then 1/4 way through 1st you stomp on it. when you get to the finish point get out run to subway and get your self a melt. fire that down then light up a smoke maybe go get some gas or a drink at the bar and when you come back wait for him to pull up and ask if hed like to go again!!!!

is the gt a manual or auto? If it is a manual he will pull you top end. A lid would be a cheap start, some lower control arm relocation brackets to get you out of the hole faster. Both items can be had for under $100.

When you are deciding on the free mods don't do the free ram air mod unless you want to be changing a dirty filter all the time. And a filter does not catch everything so your engine is eating more shit too.....

An 01 SS?? Very nice! You can go with the free mods, I'm sure it'll net you SOMETHING, but IMHO, I wouldn't do it. Go for the stall and gears, and you'll pull him without question. Just get a guesstimate as to how far you want to go with the setup on your car, and where you powerband will be, if you decide to a H/C/I setup (or any one of those). Then negotiate a nice stall for the time being and get yourself some 3.42s at the LEAST! If you do these and C5Z28s suggestions, you should be in the 12s without question with a decent DR. IMHO, I would go with a 16" DR for sidewall flex instead of a 17". Thats what I plan on doing the next 2-3 weeks. Anyways, these are the ideas, let us know what you do and how this race turns out! AND POST SOME PICS MAN!!!

My friend has an '07 Mustang GT with a few mods. We went to a test and tune in November and I was over a half second quicker than his car in the quarter. My only mods at the time were SFC's and a catback.

You almost got it right Preston...

    Superconducting
    Flux
    Capacitor

2 point UMI bolt in subframe connectors -- first real mod I did to the car.

if you play with the car on occansion or on the regular the sfc's should be done before any power mod. make sure you go through with your maintainance before anything. fluids, spark plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter. just to keep it in good running order.
