I have herd from $25,000 for the basic v-6 (250 hp) model to $40,000+ for the V-8's.
The basic v-8 will be 6.0 ls2 400 hp and they are talking something a little more powerfull for a ss version. (Can you say ls7?) LOL? I can only hope

No, they are going to change the IRS. I just saw a video of this, they were talking about it being off the holden platform which would be IRS, but they said when they start production here its going to be solid rear ends.

also heard of the discontinue of the ls2 but they just built a brand new factory a year ago pascifically for the ls2, and on the promo add on shows it says it has the ls2.personally i think theyll put the rest of the ls2's in from there stock in the 09's then when the 2010 come in the half that big marketing set up, like in the 04 GTO. but i will put $ on that there wont be no LS7 untill a couple years of production. the new maro will already sell big, they just need to get a bigger spike in sales couple years down with the hype of the LS7

I've never seen anything show less than 400 HP for the standered camaro.

Either way, I'm not feeling the new look that much. Looks more like a mustang than a camaro.

Prices are supposedly going to be close to the mustang prices and most speculation is a tad bit more model for model. The IRS is staying. It's already in the final stages and they are getting ready to tool the plant which is supposedly a year long process. All test mules are IRS equipped as well as all Zeta platformed cars. Want to see the underpinnings of one look underneath the G8.

Its going to be a little bit longer till mustangs get their "tornado" motor. I agree I think the LS2 is only going to be for the first year and then they will upgrade to LS3 like the GTOs did. I don't think they will release that info yet becasue that can stop sales from occuring becasue people would wait for the LS3 instead.
