My SS starts when it wants to

ive been having a problem with my car lately. The car starts sometimes and sometimes it dont. I turn the key and it cranks but it dont turn on. Theres other times where it starts right up without a problem. I took it to the local dealer but they couldnt figure it out. It did not show any codes n the car only did the problem twice and they werent able to diagnose it. I was hoping someone on here might have the same problem or may know about this and might be able to help me.

Change the plugs, wires, air filter, and fuel filter. I bet she will start right up everytime.

Maybe fuel pump and/or injectors.

Watch your Oil pressue guage. If you arent getting signal from your sending unit your car wont start. Or atleast thats y my silverado never wants to start...

check the fuse in the fuse box under your hood. One of the big gray ones.....

mine did something like that and it was the cam postioning sensor. Good luck

sounds like fuel pump, because u said it has no codes stored, also usualy if it
is cam or crank sensor u would usually have codes stored. also it is not a
security problem because u said the vehicle would crank but no start, if it
is a security problem it would not crank at all. probly only way to find problem
is wait till it gets worse and install a external fuel pressure gauge to see if u
loose pressure

Yeah...I think its the fuel pump.

its your vats system, perform a search in goolgle here or ls1tech on f body vats failure. their is a pretty easy fix. its just a pain in the ass, my 99 did that to me a few times, dont bother with buying parts for the engine, its simply a security sytem issue, the little resistor in the key thats what it is

It is not a vats system problem because he said the car would crank but no start, if it
was a vats problem it would not crank

I just was having the same exact problem Its the ignition relay its located under the hood on the drivers side replace it with a fan relay to see if it works very simple fix it drove me nuts for such a long time!! let me know good luck thx
