/LT Header time?
Just got the Z smogged today and don't have to worry about it again for 2 years. Thinking about putting some Lt's on it. Would it be worth it to swap out every coulple years or just go with some shorties? I just have a few bolt on's right now.I plan on running cats either way. Thanks!

Shorties give you looks not performance gains, you can do the swap every so often or find someone to smog w/ the headers. Can't go wrong either way the headers are just a pain to do over and over.

Whatever you do, DO NOT DO SHORTIES. The cost, the install, and the time are not worth it. You will regret it, believe me. Just do LT's once, and you wont have to ever do it again! Learn from my mistakes!

What brand did you decide on? How much are you spending? It's easy to spend $1,000.

Navy Blue Metallic- '00 Formy A4
interesting....
I eventually want to do headers w/cats on my Bird, this looks like a cost effective way to do it. I have a freind who spent over 1k for headers and a catted Y, no thanks!
Now where are the cats going to go? Directly onto the headers, or are you having a custom Y pipe made up?
Please post pics and a review after the install, I'd love to find out your results.

I have the same headers. They went on pretty easy didn't have any crazy things to do. Just waiting for my block off plates, and 02 ext so I can start the thing up

I'll keep you guys posted. I'm going to mount the cats right off the header. Thought about getting an exaust pipe expander and just slip them together with muffler clamps holding them tight ,along with some brackets mounted to the car. I've got a mig welder so I'm going to make my own exaust. I have a 2.5" cherry bomb off the y pipe now. Might get two 3"cherrybombs and dump it past the axles. I'll decide what I'm gonna do once I have everything.
