LS2 402ci STROKER HELP!!!!!!

im not sure on the LS2 strokers, but i just bought a LQ9 408 stroker from TSP and the only thing i have to do is drill and tap a hole for the alt bracket. other than that it all carries over. i would imagine it would be the same for the LS2, but you may not need to drill/tap that hole. call and ask TSP they will be albe to tell you. have you already ordered it? you will also most likely want to get heads (unless you already have some). most everything else should cross over (oil pan, valley cover, intake, etc...) good luck

lightweight...save a hundred pounds off the front end.maybe to keep with the lsX line...besides that i cant think of too many reasons..i dont know the block flow characteristics between a lq9 and a ls2 ..but if i had to guess a ls2 will have better oiling and flow

ya i thought about the same thing, but i am thinking of going FI/N20 down the road, so the iron block appealed to me. i also have a tubular k-member and upper/lower a-arms which they say drops a little over 50lbs off the front. with the LQ9 weighing 60-70 more than it's LSX counterparts, i can stand to have 15-30 pounds more weight in the front. im not sure on any other differences either. do you think the oiling system is different?

i could have swore an lq9 was only about 80 lbs heavier than its aluminum counter parts. plus you dont need any conversion pieces either.

its enough that need to change out spring rates unless you want a lower'd look up front. look into using LT1 front springs when you add a Iron block motor up front if you want to keep the stock height

you should be fine but remember when you add weight to a given spring the spring rate now changes. so the ride might be stiffer up front. to some they dont notice this to others they can noticed the added weight. it does throw off handling some since its a higher weight
