    losing fuel pressure

I've got a 98 z28, when I shut the engine off the fuel pressure bleeds off at the fuel pump, considering what a pain that would be to change, I was wondering if anybody knows of some sort of check valve that could be placed inline around the fuel filter? Seems like that would be a lot cheaper & easier.........

    Thanks!

It will bleed off some but how fast does it bleed off? Is is just 5 or ten pounds or is it all bleeding off?

I took it to the dealer, they say it went from 60 psi to 0 in 10 seconds - my feeling is that it doesn't always do that, usually starts right up first thing in the morning, most of the problem is when it's hot outside....doesn't seem to have the problem as much now that we are past summer temps. BTW, they ONLY want $1100 to replace the pump

So after their diagnostics they're condemning the pump? $1100...ouch. There's a link here on replacing it by cutting an access panel on the rear deck - maybe you can get the pump cheaper (gmpartsdirect) and have a shop do the panel a lot cheaper. I'll find the link.

Yeah I've seen that, thank you for checking, something about cutting a hole through sheet metal, sparks, gas tank, fuel lines nearby just doesn't feel right.......seems like if I could just find a check valve, put it inline with the filter I would be good to go without blowing myself up in the process
