    Talking Just started modding!

    Hey guys!

feels good to say I just ordered my first mod for my car which is an mti clear lid! I'm happy and can't wait to put it on. Give me about a month and I'll give you a baseline with the stock lid and paper filter, then one with the clear lid and my k&n. I'm excited to see what I'm putting out to the wheels! By next spring I plan on getting headers and a different cat-back and a y pipe. Hopefully I can do that and more! I've got a question though, what size ypipe do you recommend? I've heard 3in and 2.5in, which is the best for performance?

    Thanks!

    welcome to the addiction!!!

keep us up to date w/what you do and post the numbers along the way. BTW, go with 3" y-pipe better for TQ and HP gains. Besides most after-market systems are 3" cat-back...

Cool man, let the moding begin, and a 2.5 in Y pipe would be better than stock but a 3 in would prolly be better IMO

are you kidding me? hahaha did you see my old v6? Well this time most of the cash is going into performance.

    Thanks everybody for the input!

I should have the lid by tuesday, do I need the smooth bellows to connect it to the engine? I know its a quick way to blow $50 but we gotta do what we gotta do

if you're gonna do it once and do it right then go w/stainless steel. it will never rust or have the coating flake/or peel off over time. while $1400 is a lot of money one can have a complete stainless steel set up for a fraction of that.

my stainless steel LT's were $340 dollars and another $370 for the LM. my ORY was $115 = $875 dollars est.

the company that I bought the headers trough were off Ebay and they were called SSAutoChrome. they were $299+43 shipping. I then bought pacesetters 3" ORY pipe (comes in 2 pieces and only slight modifications to make it fit) for about $115. yes, 'LM' stands for Loud Mouth.

Check out this Ebay link, looks like they have gone up $26 bucks since I bought them but $325 dollars is not bad for a set of Stainless Steel LT's...

got my lid on!!! I just need to take pictures... the clear lid is AWESOME! It doesn't fit the mass air flow sensor perfect but I'm modding that my self so I know no air is leaking. looks and sounds great though!

I don't know if they are the same but I got my headers from FLP also. They were called Dynatech.$1495.I don't think they coat them anymore.Mine are stainless. That is headers and Y pipe with the HF cats.
