    Sadly now demodded :(

My 98 has 178,xxx on it and it runs like it was new. When I turn of the ASR I can still light 'em up in 1st and get scratch in 2nd (3rd too if I had a better clutch).

And what does age have to do with it?

    <----- My correct age.....

Mileage is only a number, until a main bearing fails! which is what happened to me with 104,000 on my SS. BUT, my 94 has 217,000 with no problems whatsoever! So who knows... My SS is my show car and does not get beat and the other one gets beat regularly. Guess I need to do some more beating when I get her built.

My 98 SS had 150,000 and my 99 Z28 has 135,xxx. Both were/are awesome running cars. 97K is barely broken in...but it really depends on how it was driven. The guy in his 40s probably was a little more careful than a younger person.

That really doesn't matter too much either because there are a lot of older guys who beat their cars harder than younger people because they can actually afford to fix them.

Get an independent inspection at a local mechanic. It will cost $100 or so and will save you thousands if there is something wrong. If there's nothing wrong, you will still have peace of mind.

at 97K, there shouldn't be anything major. Obviously, you should get a tune up, replace gaskets if needed, etc...

108xxx on mine and no major mechanical problems. dd with a little play here and there. take care of your maintainance and you'll be fine unless you plan on playing with it and get careless.

Mine did too. But, I had it flushed. They had to do it twice because he told me he'd never seen one so dirty.

    It's been fine ever since.

When getting a high mile car expect to replace all the bushings.. squeeky nightmare.. (torque arm and LCAs mainly)

Shit...mine needs a whole new steering rack. I have PS fluid everywhere. But I sourced one for $100 at the wreckers.
