Just curious
Is there any reason to keep the original parts from my car or should I let the performance shop have them? I have a new tranny, cam, exhaust, injectors, and fuel pump being installed in two weeks.
My car has approximately 29k miles on it.

I've kept all of the stock items off of my 02 for 2 reasons:
1.You never know as you may want to sell it (EVERYTHING is for sale for the right price)
and
2. The government might crack the whip on pollution control devices and installation/workability of same.

you have an 02 so if you ever decide to put lots of money into the car there is always someone who is looking for a replacement for a broken piece or even your ls6 intake could be sold if you ever want to upgrade. alot of intakes are going for like 300 used in the parts for sale section

Same here. Plug in (OBDII), no codes, test the fuel cap and you're on your way. Here in Phx they are supposed to check (some do - you just gotta know where to go as it's state testing) but most don't. OBDI and older it's a full on inspection, dyno at 25 & 40 mph and all. This is only in Maricopa county and a few parts adjoining. Worst thing here isn't car pollution it's the damn dust storms.
Like I said, I've kept everything just in case.

Yes. Flat out - Yes.
IIRC, in Cali if they catch you street racing or pull you over for a violation (speeding, ect) and they find you have non-CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved items on the car they take the car away.
AFAIK, this only applies to cars registered in that state.
Pretty crappy, huh?Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 06-30-2008 at 05:34 PM.
