I'm looking for a hood...
Problem is I'm really happy with the way my stock Z28 hood looks. But I need to lighten up the front end.
Quite a dillemna seeing as how all the fiberglass hoods I find online are ram air or cowled.

Eventually I would like to do something like the ram air on the new camaro, as you can see the inlet is in the front facia, not the hood.
(I tried to put a picture highliting the area I would like to emulate, but cannot figure out how to post a pic .)Last edited by Fbody4ever; 06-27-2008 at 10:23 PM.

drill some holes in it.
like they did in the old days with the frames on cars to lighten them up.
that is a joke.

Have you checked out the ultra z or z style hoods? They are ram air but they look mean. I'm planning on getting one for mine.

Guess I'll have to do something like that...I just love the sleek lines of my stock hood sooooooo much.

I really think you would be happy with a small cowl... I know you like the Z hood, but a 2.5" cowl isnt huge and it really will make your car look better than you think.
LS1 z's have steel hoods? if so do firebirds/ws7's?

Here is the z style:
https://www.suncoastramairhoods.com/...?productID=290
And here is the ultra z:

Lowest prices I could find for both if you want those.
