If you had $13,000...?
What performance and/or cosmetic modifications would you make to your (let's say) completely stock SS if you had $13,000 to spend?

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
Above is the best plan right there.
If you were dead set on dumping 13k into the car assuming its paid for, I would buy a real rearend and full suspension first and foremost. I would then buy a new motor with forged internals and 400+ cubes. Freshen up the tranny and that should about wipe out the 13k and have the car in top condition.

Maybe I should just save and make it an LS7 Camaro.

I don't know man, I have big plans... big plans. Haha. I think it just depends on which body style you find more appealing, if you forget about everything else. I think I prefer the Camaro.

moser M9 housing, and you get the matching MONSTER torque arm with that.
umi full tubular k-member, front and rear control arms, QA1 shocks, and some lowering springs
I would do some AFR heads, and a healthy cam, kooks longtubes, and a true dual exhaust with dumps after some chambered mufflers.
I'd get some nice lookin wheels, and stuff a nice 26"x10.5" tire under the back, and throw on a decent set of brakes. get a good clutch, and a tune.
I didnt add up prieces but that would have you sittin real pretty right there. 500whp and a chassis setup for a lot of room to grow. also, your gonna want a rollcage

forget about what? and i guess its just your opinion, but ill take a c6 over any fbody. styling, performance, quality, status, are all greater than a 4th gen. superior car, period.

I would invest a couple thousand of it in stocks, CD's or some kind of high yield savings account.
And then buy a new rearend, suspension goods, and work from there.

Yeah, rear end is unanimus. Subframe connectors, control arms, shocks and springs. Engine. I've got some nice wheels, and I just need some better calipers. The dude that owned it before me put some really nice drilled slotted rotors on it. Know a good place to find true dual?

My point was that the money that I would spend on doing my car, would equal that if I bought a c6. So if I bought a c6, I would have no money to make it faster. With 13k I can make my camaro faster than a stock c6. So what it really comes down to is which body style do I prefer. That is camaro; to me anyways. I'm sure there's tons of people that prefer the look of the c6

I don't care too much about track times either. I just prefer the body styling of the camaro, over the vette. Now, if I have a choice between a fast vette, or a camaro with the capability of being faster, and probably cheaper with a body style I prefer, I'm going with my SS.
