man, I've removed mine like 5 times. it's super easy. in the back passanger side of the trunk there is a plastic cover with the speaker in it. remove the cargo cover flap dealy first. there are three little turn deals with lock and unlock, and you can use a penny to turn them. once they are in the unlock position, pull up on the plastic cover from the front infront of the speaker, and then keep going. the whole thing should slide right out. you can either set the cover aside behind the back seat or disconnect the speaker at the little clip and take it all out. the spare tire and jack are both underneather there and they are simple held in with one fastener each. it's all pretty self explanatory once you get there. have fun.

I just realized that it's a how to remove, so might as well tell. I remove my jack first, you just unscrew the fastener and pull it out. then the spare tire. just unscrew the big wing nut till it gets loose, then unhook the end of it from the hole it's in. then you can just lift the spare out and replace the cover. and you're done. the tire weighs 28 pounds, while the jack is 7.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Q: Why take the tire and jack out when all that weight is over the rear axle? Specifically over the unloaded tire at launch?

adding another dumb question. how do you get the spare in/out of the trunk. wife had a flat the other day and the tow driver changed the tire. I put the new tire on the car this morning and cant for the life of me figure out how the get this damn spare back in. it was flat when the driver pulled it out, but it seems like it doesnt fit. been out there twisting and turning it every which way. god I feel dumb

I have taken ours out at the track several times and for the life of me cannot picture it. I do not remember it being all that difficult though.

no owners manual , it truly doesn't physically fit, short of letting the air out , but then bother putting in. lol this is stupid
