depends, is your car "smog" legal. i.e. carb eo # on the headers, etc.... i'd say keep it out of state. you can do more mods cheaper than if you register it in cali. but to answer your ?, it will be what ever the smog fee is, if you pass the first time, plus the dmv fee for a title transfer, about 15 bucks, plus what ever registration fees are going to be. taxes etc.. unless you're military, then it's 35 bucks.

I'm not sure, but in CA its required that you have a front and back license plate. Which is F'ed up.

i lived had cali plates on my 91 rs for 4 years, and i only sported the back plate. i didn't have a bracket for the front one. so i never put it on. what are they going to say? blablabla.. what ever.
