the skip shift is for m6 cars and it lets you go from 1st to 2nd gear at slower speeds instead of going from 1st to 4th.

In order to claim higher MPG (gas mileage), GM forces the First gear to Fourth Gear "skip shift" when you try to shift between 15 - 20 mph and are at less than 35% throttle. Since this can be a bit annoying to deal with if you do a lot of city driving (and aren't heavy into the throttle), there is a simple $10.00 fix.....the "skip shift eliminator". The eliminator will allow you to shift from first to second at those speeds without pushing you into 4th.
