HELP!!!! Need to know how to tell if this is a true SS

A kid here in town is selling his camaro with an ls2 dropped in it, he claims that its a true SS but I have been hearing that its a Z-28. What worries me is he took of all badges and is hesitant to send more pictures or info about the car.

The drivers door has the rpo codes on it. Ask him to give you the rpo codes or the vin number. If he is not willing to give you the vin I would run.

The VIN # is going to really help identify if its a true SS or not. All SS's are Z28's just a select few sent to SLP for the SS Performance package. Even on my registration card it has Z28 on it but i have already confirmed with all my documentation that mine is a true SS. However if you do get the VIN # you could always contact SLP and give them the VIN and the year and they could search there data base. Also like Z28Thunder mentioned with RPO codes im pretty sure there all RPO code WU8. If you need any more help dont hesitate to ask.

The SS option code or rpo code is WU8. As you state all SS's start life as a Z28. And like you state the title to an SS has Z28 on it. That is true for all SS's...

Thanks everyone for all the help, I am just waiting to hear back from him to get the vin and RPO codes... we will see how it goes
