Arctic White / Neutral- 98 Camaro SS
Hello to everyone!-First mods?
Hello-
I am new to the board today! I actually had a day off today and wanted to do some research on the 99 SS I recently purchased. I am interested in doing some mild upgrades performance wise. Also it gets pretty warm down here and my car started to get hot when I kicked the AC on in slow traffic. The car is all stock with the exception of slp lid, kn, and boot. Is there anything you would reccommend for this issue. i.e 160 stat fan control. Any input would be great. I would like to order something asap.

I have searched and found nothing on first mods or the cooling issue other than replace the thermostat. Can I just change the thermostat without changing anything with the computer?

Exhaust should always be your first upgrade, a nice set of stainless long tubes and a good cat back system. You will notice some pretty impressive gains from something simple like that.

What would be the best way to do that? What tuner? Or is there a way to have the computer sent out and tuned? Or not reccommended? East TX muscle cars is about 4 hrs from me would it be worth a trip up there and having the car dyno tuned if I only had a couple of bolt ons?
Also any input on how to keep this thing running cooler in the TX heat?

HP Tuners is probably the best tuning software. HPtuners dot com. I highly suggest not buying it to do little things like this though. As far as sending the ECM out to have is flashed. Look here.
Tunedbyfrost.com
That will do the trick for keeping it cooler. Lower t stat and lower fan settings. Maybe a flush and refill on the cooling system.
