    Heat shields

    gettin ready to put my catback on how many people are rippin out the heat shields anyone have any trouble with heat after removin i wouldn't worry bout it bout the cats are still there for now so thats an extra couple hundred degrees

    If it is'nt rattling or rotted I'd leave it be IMHO. Cats get real hot as you know and paint on the underside can burn aswell..Just my .02..

    I left mine in on both cars, even without the cats.
    Actually on my wifes car, being a 6 speed, the hydraulic clutch line runs behind the heat shield on the driver side to isolate it from heat.
    Good idea to keep it that way as heat will play havic with hydraulic fluid and clutch action.

    Well,,,,I can think of reasons to remove them,,,but that isn't my intentions with our 4th gens

    I assume you are talking to the thread starter, but there are other reasons to remove them instead of weight savings. You don't save any weight by removing them either like you mentioned.

    well i left them on for now was thinking without them may fit better plus the weight even if its 2lbs but after 15mins of tweekin no squeeks or rattles on first test run
