Has anyone ever raced a worked 3000GT?

Just curious if anybody has ever raced a worked Mitsubishi 3000GT and how it turned out.

in worked do you mean the tt editions? cuz with out the twin turbos they are just a heavy chunk of metal...there is a tt floating around where i live that is like 375whp or something like that havent gotten the pleasure of getting up against one tho. I have had the misfortune of racing a nissan 300zx with turbo upgrades and someother goodies...wasnt pretty at all!

I havent come up against any that impressed me but im sure they are out there. Most of them are really heavy and expensive as hell to mod.

I raced a VR-4 with a good number of bolt ons. He pwned me off the line, but after that it wasn't that tough. It's basically a slightly heavier WRX. If you can take an STI, a "worked" 3000GT shouldn't be bad. Especially if its not AWD.

I ran a modified Dodge Stealth with the twin turbo on the interstate. It was a nose to tail run. He kicked it, I did the same a moment later. He couldn't pull on me and I couldn't pass him, either. I let out at 120, just as far behind him as I started. I only had a lid and a cat-back.

The ones I've seen were not very difficult to spank. But I'm sure there is one or two out there with enough $ in it to present problems (and it would take a lot of $).

I used to own a mod 3000gt when I got smoked by a z28. The next month I bought an SS. 3000GT models are very heavy and require heavy modification to make significant improvement.
