Blue- 2000 Camaro SS
Harness Bar for Camaro
Hello, All:
I’ve installed Corbeau CR1 seats in my 2000 Camaro SS T-top, and I’ve bought a Corbeau five-point safety harness for the driver’s side. I’d like to mount the safety harness on a harness bar, but haven’t been able to locate one to fit my Camaro. A local speed shop is willing to fabricate the bar, but needs more information. Can anyone provide any pointers or advice on installing a harness bar on my F-body? I’m particularly interested in where and how the bar attaches to the floor pan and any details of hardware needed to mount a harness bar. Any photos or drawings would be priceless! Many thanks in advance!

if you guys can give me some time, i just picked up a harness bar. the guy has told me he will ship it tomorrow.
once i get it in, i will be more than happy to give dimensions, photos, whatever i can to help you guys.
LG no longer makes the Harness Bars, and I had looked for months before someone over on tech sent me a link.
here is the Hanress Bar I will be getting hopefully within the next 7-10 days...

it is a 2pt Harness Bar, mounts using 4 bolt locations. it mounts where the shoulder belts mount to for the rearseats. my understanding is that there is no cutting of interior trim pieces. please see the pics below. some say it is dangerous in the case of a rollover crash or a really hard side impact. the smartest thing would be to add another bar just clearing the interior trim panels...
photo wise, i can give you these...

Why not just install a 6 point cage if you're going to that trouble?

i dont see a 2pt being as much trouble as a 6pt to begin with...
most people like myself dont wish to cut up their cars. if i ever did, i would only do a 4pt cage in the TA...
this harness bar is going in my '95 TA project car. im not going to cut up my SS for anything...

Guess it depends on what the goal of the car is. Yeah a four point could work as well as a 6 point w/ swing outs if it's a street car.
