Ground effect removal?
Anyone ever attempt this. Car is a 99 camaro with factory sport appearance package. Prefer the look without the ground effects. Any advice?

Maybe I need to be more clear. There are plastic pieces that hold the actual ground effects on. They are riveted on or screwed on. My question is, how difficult is the body work recquired to fill these holes and then paint.
Any smart ass comments like the ones above are not necessary, just a simple answer from someone who has had this done.

no ego here, he asked about taking them of i sad yes just take them off. i didn't know about clips pins and holes that he talks about. the ground effects i had just had screws that went int wheel wells and under rocker panels. sorry when i took mine off i didn't need to fill pin holes. sorry for my imput and responding for someones calling my answer smart ass when all i did was try to help. next time say what you mean and or need help with. good luck with you holes. show pics. before after and of the holes so we can see what your talking about. like my imput was so bad "just take them off" humm. and i have the ego.

I Took My Groung Effects Off And there were Metal Slide Clips(Rivited On) along the rocker and Long Plastic Straps From inside the ground Effect OutWard. You will have Holes Along The Rocker And The Front Fender(In Front Of Rocker) The Front Chin Effects Are The Same Way. Slide Clips And Rivits. Silicone For The Plastic(Find A Color That Might Match) The Rockers Are Differnt Story! Fill And Sand Paint! That Is The Shitty Part!

So, do you have your VIN sheet or anything? Just wondering about a 1LE with gfx, you wouldn't think someone would have ordered a 1LE, then added weight like gfx to it. Seems backwards. Not talking crap, just wondering if the gfx were added later

They were added later. At the dealership. The guy gave me the paperwork with the car. They were added a year later.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I was thinking there would be a good deal of bodywork and paint involved.
And for the guy interested in buying them, pm me for more details.
And lets not bash on each other for the choices we make to change the appearance of our OWN cars. I bought this car and can do what the hell I want to it.
To each his own.
