I am always suspicious of modded cars. Take the car to a good mechanic and pay a couple of hundred to have it inspected. If it checks out, you can buy it and already be a step ahead of the game by knowing what you have to do to it.

    Good luck.

A little high on price for those miles. Also it says the engine has been programmed. You need to look into this and find out what was programmed and why. I know the speedometer had to be reprogrammed due to the gears but it says engine. Also u need to know what program was used and if you start having problems with the car and need to have it check will the program be a problem. See if you can drop down the price at least a little more and then go for it. Also do a full inspection since the car has been modded! Good Luck!!

    Sadly now demodded :(

If the engine was programmed properly by somebody who knows how (i.e., NOT HPP3) then that shouldn't be a problem. I'd be looking hard at the suspension/sub-frame due to the newer rims. May not be a problem though.

Like Anthracis sez, if you've got the $$$ and know nothing about cars then let a good mechanic give you an unbiased opinion.

Don't take anyone's word for it. Have the car inspected out by a good mechanic. I say take it to a Chevy dealership and have them look at it. That's what I did before I bought my ss.

I would stay away from the 98 year its the older version of the ls1 with different heads and a smaller cam. 99 and up would be better

Getting it inspected would be totally up to my dad, But we are both pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cars. I'm even ASE Student certified, got to get into a dealer to get my full certification. Unfortunatly, The cars not super close about 1 hour and 40 mins away. I'm going to try to go look at it this weekend. I will email him tonight to get my info on the programing.

Thats funny you say that becuase your wrong about the cam. It says right in one of the stickys "14. 1998-2000 cars had a larger cam than the 01-02 cars"

I can always change the intake down the road. Fact is 300hp is going to be a jump from what i had in my good old monte carlo. I need to learn how to drive it before i mod the hell out of it
