going to the tuner
when i had my car tuned last, the injectors were hitting 100% duty cycle at 6k rpms. just installed 42 lb/hr injectors and going back to the tuner tomorrow. think its possible to pick up more hp/tq?

Depends on your last tune and where your peak power is made in the rev range. Certainly a possibility.

A more important question is why did your tuner even agree to tune the car if you were at the ragged edge of becoming lean.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

that was my doing went broke with the engine build. larger injectors were an oversight on my part, the car wouldnt even idle so i told them to do the best they could, set the rev limiter at 6k and i will fix it later. it's a daily driver and sees low rpms unless a mustang driver dares challenge me at a red light lol. so now i have the cash, put them on have it towed to the tuner and bam. come on 500 rwhp.

so got my car back and i actually lost 7 hp and 7 tq. thinking its probally because of the stall and 4l65e internals. but the hp and tq curves are much more smooth. the car runs better and pulls harder except for the pesky rolling idle at times.

can anyone give advice on a rolling idle? tuner couldnt get it just right. when cold the idle bounces from 500 to 1200. when i put it in gear it will die unless i 2 foot it. after it warms up when i roll up to a stop light as the trans downshifts and the idle starts rolling again. most of the time the idle will stabilize after a second or 2 but sometimes it will die. its embarrassing. the IAC is the original with 108k miles on it but I dont want to throw parts at it. didnt have this problem until i put the stall converter in it. any advice is greatly appreciated.

Only thing I can think of is to adjust the throttle body screw to allow a little bit more air in when the throttle is closed. Personally, I would take it back to the tuner and have it tuned right. You shouldn't be having the issues you are having.
You're a bit shy of 500rwhp, still very respectable numbers though - 5.7L is capable of it

it's actually a 6.3L 383ls6.(thats it, my avatar pic, was assembled in my man cave to my wifes disappointment lol) a lil disappointing for the amount of money i have in it. oh well theres always NOS, maybe a 100 shot. gonna look at the TPS voltage tomorrow vs IAC counts and see if i can open the plate a little bit without increasing the voltage too much. also gonna call the tuner tomorrow to see what he thinks.

What heads are you running?

Didn't realize that I guess - should of looked harder
Your numbers seem pretty low then. As Chris stated, what heads and cam are you running?

A.F.R. 210cc. I think I couldve made a better cam choice but think I will start saving for either a 7 or 7.4L. my tuner said thats pretty typical hp/tq for my engine with an A4 with 4l65e 5 gear palnetaries and 12 bolt. a lot of parasitic loss. still disappointing.

Wow. Those are some nice heads
I guess I'm still questioning it. I've seen people with an LS1 with a mid size cam and those same heads making 430-440 to the wheels.
You're only losing an additional 3% through that 12 bolt. Not sure on the 4L65E and how it compares to the 4L60E as far as parasitic loss. I am also not sure how your stall is affecting your final numbers.
I typically don't get caught up on DYNO numbers, but yours still seem low for your set-up, and your car isn't running like it should which concerns me even more. Especially after it was just tuned.
Did he tune it on the street and on the DYNO? How well versed is your tuner? Is this someone who tunes these types of set-ups regularly?
Maybe those numbers are right for your set-up

What are the specs of your cam? I put down close to the same numbers with the mods in my sig. My heads are just ported stock 98' heads and thats through a Strange S60 which is a big hp eater.

tuned on dyno and street. car runs very well except for the idle. this is the first time I've used this tuner but he seems very knowledgeable and had a shop full of vettes and camaros. very nice ones i might add and he comes highly recommended. I can say the car runs so good I need someone to beat me on the street finally as my ego has gotten HUGE with cobras,gt's,new 5.0's and a couple of vettes chalked up on the kills list. I was just hoping to be in at least the 470"s hp.

If you were at M6 you would be very close to 470.

Take it to the track and find out the real numbers. The DYNO numbers don't mean squat.
