    Foglight HIDs

    1) I did a search and i need an HID kit for an 880 bulb to fit into the stock fog light housing?

    Correct?

    2) is DDM tuning a good HID manufacturer to buy from?

    3) Where do you guys usually mount the ballast?

    4) Does the HID system literally plug into the back of the fog light with no issues? 100% Straightforward install?

    5) What color should i get to match my halo rings in my headlights...? 5000K or 6000K?

heres some older pics of the halos

I have the 880 type from DDM for my t/a fogs...not sure if its the same bulb as camaros though. It is a plug and play and I mounted the ballasts for the fogs and my lowbeams on the bumper support. I went with 35w 5k and its pretty white. Cant really tell if your halos are pure white. If you go higher, you start getting more blue/purple. My lows are 55w 6k and match my fogs well.

I have 6K highs lows and fogs and they all work great, compeltely water proof and orderd from tspny.com. We mounted ballasts on inside of fron bumper with double sided tape and havent had any problems.

so could you get at the foglight bulb without disassembling anything on the front?

and do you have any issues with only one HID coming on? did you have to wire a relay?

there is a lil door underneath i think its 2 or 3 screws you get them out and have full access to your fogs. No i havent had any problem with only one coming on. I get brighted all the time with just lows on its funny. Definately a great buy makes the night so different

I would take off the whole plastic undercarriage just to be safe. You don't want to get anything on the bulbs during the install.

I have a question? I just had the halo headlights installed and they wired halo wire to the foglights, so it only goes on when i turn the foglights on obviously. Now one of the foglights is out, will this be a consistant problem if i replace the foglight bulbs? Is there another way to wire that halo wire?

i wired mine to my foglights, that way i can control having them on or off...

you could also wire them to the daytime running lights.. some other members have chosen to do it that way
