I think you can just buy bulbs, dont go the ebay route. I bought some on their, they look bluish, but the light they emit is as yellow as ever

No it is not just bulbs. You have to buy an HID kit. The HID bulbs should fit into the stock housings, but there is a load of wiring to deal with.

You can pick up "High Intensity" bulbs from any local parts store that will brighten things up quite a bit, although to go full out Hid your going to have to pick up a kit that includes the wiring. Stronger bulb= bigger wires to handle the load.

If you buy a good HID kit it will come with a bulb to fit in the stock location and a ballast that powers the bulb, you can get them so that they connect to your factory harness with no splicing. Hardest part is finding somewhere to mount the ballast. It will not draw more power if you have a good ballast. I have the kit on my 04 Crew Cab F150 and love it, literally night and day! But I barely drive my car in the dark so I haven't done much with the lighting. Nokia (SP?) makes a nice bright HID "look" bulb that replaces the stock bulbs with no wiring.

    I agree...

My grandfather bought a set of PIAA's for his Lincoln TC and they melted his headlight harness....
