Flowmaster Muffler
I have a 2002 SS with all the bolt ons but no internal mods. I am looking to change the sound of the car. I have the full SLP system from LTH to CME. I want to know if anyone has used the Flowmaster 43083 muffler with 3" in and dual 2.5's out. Thanks

A friend of mine had the 10 Series Delta Force 9435109 installed on his Ipipe right where a cutout is normally installed. He replaced his CME/LM1 system with it to quite things down. It sounds really good IMO, he's also got LT's and a catted ORY.

From what i've been hearing, Flowmasters ARE pretty quiet. If you want loud, go with the Borla. I don't know what the CME is (yes yes don't laugh at me too hard) but on the catback system the passenger side exit pipe doesn't go through the muffler, so you can screw with the 3 plates it comes with to adjust how loud you want it to be.

The Borla system is great for a CME since you really wouldn't be able to tell which side is louder, that's really only a factor if you are OCD or just personnaly prefer that both pipes sound equally loud.

I have a flowmaster catback on my Z. It is pretty quiet and I probably wouldn't buy it again. I love my SLP LM1, SLP Y-pipe, and stock manifolds. Sounds great with CME but that's just me. Not sure what direction I will go when I get longtubes.

I have the flowmaster also and its very disappointing as far as sound goes. Far too quiet for my taste, would definately try something else.

I had a Flowmaster 40 on mine and it was pretty loud. I liked the sound.

I always hated flowmaster. But when I bought my ss came with it. I went with magnaflow and is way to quiet.
Bassani sounds good on this cars.

You will not hear many bad things about MagnaFlow or GMMG.

+1 on borla setup.
But do what YOU want instead of listening to us. I prefer borla, other prefer magna, and the others on flowmaseter

The only options in my opinion for exhaust on a LS1 are these #1 true duals of course, #2 GMMG true chambered cat back, #3 Borla cat back, and #4 cut out, anything other then that is a waste of time and money unless it's something more quiet you're looking for
