Fair Price For 2001 Ss Slp

You guys I have found an ss camaro with the SLP suspension and exhaust. The car has less than 40k on it and I am picking it up on Friday for 17K. Is this a fair price? It is in perfect condition.

I paid $14.5 for my 02 Z28 with 35k on it. Is the SS worth 17 to you?

Just bought an 01 SS with 25k for 15.5. I think I got a good deal, it's mint too. Look around, you'll always find a car eventually. I don't think 17 is too bad. I think when you find the car you have to have you'll buy it without even thinking. You only live once though.

That's pretty high. Last year, I bought my 2000 SS w/55,000 miles on it for $15K even. It's also a convertible and has every SLP option available on it (Centermount exhaust, chrome rims, hurst shifter, bilstein shocks, etc.). Granted, alot of the pricing also depends on what area you're from (kind of like housing). I live in crappy Michigan where jobs are about as scarce as decent looking women, so the prices are going to be alot lower than the west coast or even the southeast. Check on autotrader.com and see what similar cars are selling for in your area.

    Thanks for the input

Yeah its tough autotrader for 500 miles within my area which is Reno only shows 2 ss camaro's that have the slt package and they happen to be the least expensive SS's as far as the asking price goes. It is hard because kbb, nada and edmunds show that the car is worth 12k-14k but I don't know that it takes the additional $3500 for the SLP package. This just happens to be the cleanest one I have seen. I know what I want and it is hard to find. I have always wanted one of these cars. I know the difference is not that great between the ss and the z28 but I like the idea of having the look the ss provides and it doesn't hurt that it has the bilstien suspension and the slp exhaust. Any more input would be great. Can't wait to be an ls1 owner regardless of what I end up with.

average going price around here is 13-15

but if your market is a little higher like most places...sounds like a pretty good price!

That's a little bit steep but not too bad, especially if it's exactly what you want. Try to talk them down to 15.5

Post some pics when you get her home!

I bought my 02 SS Convertable for less than what you guys are posting here. Just last year with only 50,000 miles on the clock and a door jamb sticker full of SLP goodies. Turned out to be 1 of 59.
If all you fellas are talking about buying T-top cars I would think the prices are all a little high compared to what I payed for a vert. Maybe I just got an unusually good deal

But the market changes quickly, and depending on the area you live etc....if the pickins are slim and it's what you want,,,,then really the price doesn't matter does it????
