    Endurance test

so, put my car in a little endurance test yesterday:
on the way to a car meet (which sucked btw) i cruised at 110 - 115 mph for about 100 miles. on the way back i turned it up a notch and tried to stay between 125 and 140 mph. topspeed i hit was 153.
the car felt very secure even when i had to perform an emergency braking from 130 down to 70 (m!"$&f"ck$§ danish station wagon pulled into my lane with no warning).

temperature and oil pressure were perfect the whole time, all seals are as before (no extra leaking). tranny shifts as it should (i got an additional oil cooler), and the rear end sounds as usual.
only the windows lift from their seal at the rear edge at 120+ speeds and it gets kinda loud.

    conclusion: test passed.

of course, all perfectly legal. it's nice to be behind a police car at 70, and when he's finished passing, to pass him going up to 100+...... and they don't care!!!!

thanks! i figured that you guys rarely get the chance to drive the cars at high speeds over longer distances, so i wanted to share the info. for me it was interesting, because chryslers and fords tend to get tranny and powersteering problems under autobahn conditions. i ruined my stratus that way.

ha. i tried something like that this past year for halloween. i went a little over 68 miles in just under 32 minutes. For those of you who are as lazy as i am, that is right about 115 mph [B]AVERAGE. [B] Greenville is so awesome!

What's your RPMs sit at going that fast? Is it still decent gas mileage? Almost forgot. M6 or A4? I bet that makes a big diff.

    it's an A4 with a 2.73 rear. at 200 km/h (125 mph) it revs at 3500 rpm in 4th gear, i think.
in 3rd gear it hits 5500 at about 150 mph / 240 km/h. gas mileage is nearly half compared to cruising at 70 mph. speeding = expensive!
