Dyno'd 431 hp........
Finally did the heads. Ls6 stage 3 port job along with a speed inc custom cam, 228/228 .588 lift, double roller timing chain, larger oil pump, fast 92 intake fast 92 tb, zo6 maf, and a larger air lid. I am super happy. I am just waiting to go to the track as soon as the weather breaks.
I hope to break the 11's but its hard to launch with the 6spd and a stock rear end. 431 hp baby, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2000 SS, my junk. Prevoius best was with the cam only-12.4 at 115.Last edited by pewterzron; 04-05-2011 at 04:49 AM.

2013 ZL1: °°590rwhp/576rwtq°°

That is a possibility. I know mine was on a dynojet, but obviously only the OP knows what type of dyno his was on.
Also, I have to say that trying to compare similar setups on different vehicles is impossible. To many variables. Simply stated mine for comparision purposes.

Cam is to small. Now a custom grind cam around the 236/236 .610/.600 @112+2 I would believe would be close to hitting that mark. Also, what is the 'cc' of the 205's, and other supporting mods.
With supporting mods and a strong tune: 450-465 is where I see you. But hey, I love surprises! So if I'm wrong, I'm wrong and Ill admit it. Keep us posted!

I also thought the numbers were low but oh well. And it was on a dynojet. I aso might go with a slightly bigger cam next year. I am happy with what it made. If it was 459rwhp and it only ran like a 12.2 then I would be really pissed. But If it runs strong and good times then I am even happier.
Best thing is I drive it all the time in the summer, air on, or tops off. Every day car with a LITTLE power. My goal was to have power and drive it all the time.

'little' power...hehe. we know that is a great 'under the curve' power and not a peak power setup. No waiting until 5500rpm for something to happen. Only concern is hoping the 10 bolt holds up.
Last time I ran the 1/4mi, my setup was 409/386 to the ground. Ran a 12.4@118 feathering off the line to save the rear. So you breaking into the 11's should be easy.

i get that a lot. people not believing a little 224 putting down those numbers, but it's no BS. with the right setup, parts complimenting parts, you get a strong build. great thing is, the OP's 228 and my 224 are proven cams. i also get people when i show them my stock dyno sheet where the car put down 325/330 to the wheels stock...hehe
its all good though and i agree a dyno is simply a tuning tool. however, the shop that did the tuning didnt give the run around. i was there for the tuning, took video, etc. sucks they had to close their doors cause of the recession.
like the OP, im saving for a MW Chassis 9" w/3.90's. already have a clutch waiting to go in, need to order the master/slave cylinders, and get it to the track with the currenty setup. its been to long. last 2+ yrs hit me hard , like many others getting laid off and trying to get gainful employment again.

Setback suck ass. I had to cancel my order of suspension goodies for my Typhoon in order to pay for the parts to get my girls car running again. Goodluck with the car and the layoff. Hopefully one of these smart politicians we have can figure out how to revive the economy and then we can all be making bank again.... but probably not.
