Did SS come with a Castrol Synthetic option?

i just bought my car and see a castrol synthetic sticker...looks like its from the factory but iv been dupted b4. if this is real is it rare?

As far as I know they didn't come w/ Castrol Synthetic. If your car did come w/ synthetic from the factory it would be Moble 1.

It appears some came with castrol. Here's a link for a 2000 SS that I have been eyeballing for a while. One of the pictures shows a sticker that says it was factory filled with catrol syntec.

Thats weird my cap says mobil 1 on it

It would have been dealer discretion to change. GM recommends Mobil 1 on all their synthetic vehicles, even though some dealers stock competitive brands.

my 99 ss has the castrol syntec factory fill sticker under the hood. it was an slp option, lubrication package or something, ill post pics

Yes my car has the castrol syntec lube option from SLP, it has the sticker and is on the SLP build sheet. the mobil one caps are aftermarket and can be found on ebay but they did not come on the cars from the factory or SLP.

I actually have the original options flyer from the dealership that came with my 98 SS and while mine didn't get the Castrol it got the Mobile 1, the Castrol lube option is listed. I'll see if I can't scan it tonight and post it.
