custom CME exhaust

so im getting a 02 ss and it has the loudmouth with slp tips..IMO the tips look like crapppoli..i was gunna cut them off and maybe go CME but those set ups are costly.. i was wondering if anyone has ever or ever thought about getting two identical rectangular tips and having a muffler shop run straight into them off of the y pipe but just in the center instead of split to each side..then just put a brace between the tips(on the back not visible of coarse) to maintain the desired distance which i would have to say 1/2 inch apart maybe?? what yal think??

so i kinda didnt research it before but it seems like it wont work and it would be too hard of a bend..plus there is no where really to weld stability brackets??or would it work?
