I am not really a fan of cowls on the 4th gens.

I like the basic SS hood.
The harwood cowl isn't too bad, still not my thing.

Can you get pictures of both?

    That's alright.

Of the two...I would go VFN.

A few more Ultra Z pics for you. I don't think you can go wrong. Personally I think the Z28s need something other then the plain stock hood to look good, luckily mine came with this hood when I bought the car. I have seen some cars that I thought looked really good with a cowl hood as well.

I had the Ultra Z hood on my LT1, worked great with the SLP air box I got with it. The only problem I noticed with it is you gotta be careful in the rain. Has a tendency to take on water. Wasn't too bad but any water in the intake ain't good.

I like it, its different. I have the K&N FIPK so its actual ram air, If I had basic lid I would go sonoco.

The cowl may look cool but the ultra Z delivers power when coupled with the air box.

I agree that there may be water issues with the Ultra Z, but in my opinion (which is what this thread boils down to), that is the better looking hood for the Camaro - that is, other than the SS hood. I thought you could get the Ultra Z hood from SLP for roughly $700 (more or less), but I've no idea on the price for the cowl - something to keep in mind if you're watching the wallet. Either way, you will set your Camaro apart from the rest with an aggressive hood.

I would not be fooled into thinking the Ultra Z give you that much of a benefit from increased airflow, a little I am sure, but I just don't see it adding that much. It does help get the engine bay dirty quicker and does add some air.

SLP discontinued the Ultra Z hood. I have not run into any water issues here, but it has been relatively dry most of the time that I have had to drive, but the car is a DD that has seen some bad Texas rainstorms.

not a fan of the ultra, kinda looks like a wanna be WS6. I would go with a 2.5 or 3" cowl.
