Could a bad cat make sounds?

When im at WOT from 1st to 2nd, when it shifts in 2nd i hear like a grr sound.. yes a ''grr'' sound right under me. And that is where my bad driver side cat is. Could that be what is making the sound?

Its not a ''pipe rubes car'' sound btw.

is it just when shifting or when else is it? I had a growling sound when shifting and when the clutch pedal was engaged. That turned out to be a bad pilot bearing. A bad cat would give a rattling sound not a "grr" sound.

I have some kind of funny exhaust sound going on....my mechanic said a bad cat can do it

absolutely, take it to the dealer, your car falls under the extended warranty for the cats

Yea i know, other threads i posted in about it,

It my ONLY car. And they would have to keep it awhile, and the ''special warranty'' doesn't cover a rental car.
