BOTH NEED DRIVER MOD HELLA!!!
First off, they spun the tires way too much IMHO. Those are street tires and only need a clean off spin, not a warm up burn and get greasy. And was it just me or did the dumb asses drive in the water pit.┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐
Man: The Mods you are fighting,
they are the biggest Men I have ever seen. I
wouldn't want to fight them!
Me: That is why no one will remember your name!

Silver- 1998 z28 convertible
the camaro was sleeping at the lights, big time. the camaro had a pretty good mph though, he must have spun a lot. I think they are both faster than they look.

Sunset Orange Metallic- 2002 SS
well that answers that question. Even with a shitty driver the maro was sleeping at the light and still won. But I'm pretty sure both cars are capable of way more

Camaro Vs Challenger
The problem with them both is WEIGHT !!!!!!!!!!! The challenger is a pig at over 4,000 lbs. What were they thinking....the darn thing is toooooheavy. The camaro is lighter but these cars need a diet then they will runnnnn !!!!

The more I see these cars run the more I want to hold on to my 98. I can't see spending 40 grand for something that can't our run what I already have. I'd rather spend 25K to 30K and find a nice used vette.

+1 on the drivers mod, my stock ws6 can take those no prob. i ran a 13.4 stock on street tires only mod is a borla cat back. i know i can beat them any way ive beat two challengers onthe highway, one wasn an srt8 and the other an rt.

driver times
I too posted better times. My 1999 bone stock Z28 posted a 13.5 and that was my first time to the track. Top speed was 108 if I remember correctly. I did have to spin out pretty good to get the tires to stick - they just would not hook up with less.

The track I run at, Orlando Speed world is on the slow side.
My Z28 ran 13.6-13.7 stock. It's an 02', A4 with 2.73 gears.
I've added a Diablo Predator, Magnaflow catback, lid, FRAM, and Nitto DR's. I've got a best of 12.72 at 109, but typically run 13.0-13.1. A friend with an 08 Mustang GT with the A5, 3.55 gears, a CAI, a catback and a Superchips tune runs 13.6-13.7.
Stock SRT8 cars run between 13.8-14.0 there. With a catback, an intake and a tune they run 13.3-13.6.
Just depends on where you're at. If these guys were at 2500' or the track had crappy air they might have run a decent time.
It's kinda like dyno's. My 06' C6 with the A6 pulled 317 on one dyno and a month later with no mods pulled 341 on another. Tracks are different and weather is different, comparing one car at one track versus another car at another track isn't very accurate.
The thing that matters here is the good guy won.

Is same thing I have been thinking. I have a 02 Z28, with LT's, catback and fipk, 3400 stall and 3.42's and nothing but a crap predator tune and can run 12.6 all day long and on real good days hit a few 1/10ths better. With a nice tune I am sure a 12.0 or close is possible. I have 40k miles on my z28 now and when I see what they are selling for now(around 10k) for one like mine in perfect condition and tons of appearance mods, I can't see letting it go for that price. I just put a factory ss hood on and had it painted last year, new z06 wheels and tires and never had a single failure since it was new, even ran 3 years et drags and never broke anything.
Even if I did buy a new SS(which I really want) or challenger srt8(like em too) I don't think it would be my daily driver, would be a toy for nice days and I already have that now with my z28 and it is paid for.
BTW, my next door neighbor who is also a good friend has a black srt8 challenger all stock and he wants to run, so when we have a nice day I will and see how they compare. He doesn't even have a k&N filter, catback or tune, totally stock like the day he bought it.
