Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
well when my life depends on it, the car crushing is sorta a good thing. You want the car to absorb as much of the impact gradually. If the cars too stiff, its like your taking the full impact. Nothing wrong with the 5th gen, but it looks like one hell of a hard hit compared to the 4th gen. Both still not bad.

Thats neat! A curtain comes down in the 5th gen so you cant hear him screaming and cursing about how his new car is wrecked.

I would certainly expect it to, seeing as it's a newer car with improved safety features. Still, I think the 4th generation cars are pretty safe for what they are. I should know, as I've totaled three of them out. One of those was a nasty front impact wreck. I walked out mostly shaken up from all three.

I think the 4th gen test car was a v6'er prolly the old 3.4L. I noticed it had hud caps rather than alloys on it. 93-94 I believe you could get the 3.4L powered f-bod with hub caps. I'd wager that the LT-LS, and 3800's would do better since those motors are larger and take up more of the engine compartments..

yeah i agree with the fact the passengers of the 4th gen wont get as hard as a hit, seeing as the car absorbs most of the impact...
however the 5th gen holds up better... but the impact for passengers is probably a little more tough.
as for the stang... well...
...what was i saying...?

I dont think they really need airbags in Mustangs...
