yeah its totally different...the LS1 uses an airlid design that sticks straight out the front.

The TB on a V6 is pointed off at a 45, and it uses a factory CAI design...i pulls air from the fender well, not from under the hood. But i do believe you can find a pipe thatll stick off to the side and you can put a filter right where the existing air box is.

No bud, the 2000-2002 v6 Camaros have the same basic breather configuration as the z28s. Mine breaths from under the hood like a Z and mine is totally factory. "I think", you'll only see the 45* or 90* breather tube on the 3.4 ohv till 95 or 96, and the 3800 II ohv motors that are pre 99-98 cars. I dont know the exact year but my 95 Camaro had the 45 or 90* thing going on. Oh and my 01 3800 II has eletronic throttle control, or "fly by wire" no cables for trany or throttle.

hhmm, Id have to see pics, Ive never seen under the hood of a 98+ V6...mines a 95, heres a pic

you can see it goes straight forward into that baffle...but its not nearly as centered as a Z. but you can also see that other tube (shiny black) coming out of the driver side...that actually goes into the air box. The filter is over there under that ABS unit.

My wife has a 99 Camaro V6 and the lid is not the same as my 98 Z28/SS.
The LS1 lid has its exit port directly in the center of the lid. The V6 version is off to the driver’s side a little bit.

Also I forgot to mention that the air filter element itself is the same part number between the Z28/SS and the V6.

Not sure what an "outlet exit" is, but the pics show the exact same filter set up I have on my 01 v6 Camaro. There's no breather tube on my drivers side. Unless you're referring to the plemun inlet and filter lid outlet? It is slightly to the drivers side.
