Buying a SS hood

Hey, I am buying an SS hood to replace the stock hood on my z. Any ideas where I can get one? I found one on ebay thats $100 cheaper than anywhere else, but I want to make sure I get a good product.

If you can find OEM, snatch it up. The aftermarket hoods usually require a lot of prep work to make them fit good and finish good.

I managed to find an OEM Hood off of an 01 SS that matched my Color for only $400.. Just keep your eye on the lookout for one

OEM! my good friend bought an ebay hood and by the time it was actually prep'd correctly and fit pretty well he was easily spending the same as buying an OEM one

GM has stopped selling the OEM hoods new. I beleive you can get them from SLP, However, they are still pricey.

Go OEM, mine still doesn't fit quite right. You get what you pay for.

Your right. You do get what you pay for. hmm I ended up getting mine for 150.... and another $75 to pay a dude to make it fit better, butstill not just right. ehhh 225 was worth it

No bigie really. It was slightly to tight on the sides and on the front. Paid 75 to get it fixed. I don't know if I got ripped off or not. But, I don't know anything about working on fiberglass. So I least an experienced shop do it. I'm converting my z into an SS. A spoiler is next. And in early February a paint job is coming. All of this will be financed with my remaning scholarship money!
