Buying Camaro SS - Price Check! Help me out!
Alright guys, make this short and sweet and I will hopefully be a future ls1 owner.
1998 Camaro Z28 SS
Leather
12 Disk Changer
Exhaust (With Cutouts) and Intake
6 Speed - 3.73 Gears (I believe that's what he said)
88k Miles
T-Tops
Don't know the color code - It's that dark blue, pretty sexy.
I am not worried about the reliability or if it's messed up - Just want a price check!
9 grand even with brand new tires that will be installed if I buy it.
First owner was 68 year old man - Sold it to the guy I am currently talking with whom I know quite well. He knows cars like nobody I know off. He says the car is solid he is my best friends cousin he would NOT lie to me. He does not want to sell but he is getting a personal shop together and found a deal on a 40grand dyno and he wants this car gone so he can pick it up. He has way to much money in cars and bikes setting around right now.
Give me your opinions and thanks guys I really appreciate the help with this big decision.

$7K - $9K seems to be the typical range for a 1998 SS, 6-speed with similar miles. Frankly it might be worth a bit of a premium to get a car that your comfortable with and you know has been well taken care of.
To put it into perspective, I paid $17,500 for my 2002 SS, 6-speed with 21K miles and all of the SLP options (plus a few other choice mods).2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.

I forgot to mention that it went to SLP for all of that stuff, I am not sure what all was done to it.
It also has a whisper intake or something or another.
But this seems like a pretty solid deal?

Seems like a decent deal to me. Miles are good for a 10 yr old car and it sounds like it's been take care of and you trust the seller. You can always try for 8500 or so.

if your not worried aboutreliability or history, go for it. 9k is good to me, yeah ask him to throw in a dyno and tune. ask him to kind of sponsor the car for free advertisement.

jonj, I am not worried about reliability because I KNOW it will be reliable. and if anything does go wrong he will get it tooken care off cheaply.
I will be getting dyno'ed and tuned by him regardless. He will be doing all of my work. (Transmission work, cam's, etc, literally everything this guy is a genius)
