Never said it was a steal but I'm sure theres 125k invested. Paint, Hood, spoilers, CCW wheels, 427, magnacharger, nitrous, labor on all that was probably a shitload. Plus it's a $30,000 car to begin with atleast. Someone will buy it. Also im pretty sure i'd take a 1000 horsepower camaro over a ferrari if those were my two choices. Im no expert but Im pretty sure half of 125 is about 60 grand. so if you buy the car for 35k and I think a crate 427 is like 12k? magnacharger 7-8k, If you can build a car like that for 60 grand you should do it and sell it for 125.

When you see the panties drop you wont care thats its not a chevy.
The Ferrari Looks better, faster top speed most likely, handles 10000000X better, brakes 100000000X better and has a 1000000000X better interior and has a pedigree chevy cannot hope to match unless you are talking about a car with a jammed steering column driving in circles in a parking lot- err nascar.
There is no comparison I'm sorry. But 1000 hp will ONLY buy you braggng rights to idiots, and faster acceleration from 80 mph to 165 mph where it will hit a brick wall. Having the aerodynamics of the side of a barn and the weight of a tank just isnt cool.
Sorry I just had to vent on the new maro. its hideous to me and this car is such a pile of junk parts and time. Anyone with half a brain would take a stock c6z06 over that let alone a zr1.

..if the Italians built the 4th gen. camaro...it would cost 100k's...ei whats sa matta for you?..gm has spoiled us..ok the 4th gen could have better brakes..(cheap to upgrade)..horsepower unlimited in the ls1..or just get the ls7..and be done with it.. I like the new camaro ...but gm hit a homerun with the 4th gen..and there are many bargains out there..and sooner or later the original survivors in mint shape will fetch a high dollar at the Barret Auctions...because the nostalgia buffs will settle for the new camaros over 40 year old Z28...but there will never be a duplicate for the 4th gen....

justinmc978...you're right..they won't duplicate the 3rd generation because...#1...ls1 is superior to the LT1...and #2...the front end on the 4th generation much more stramlined, more aero dynamic, #3 ..and why duplicate the 3rd gen when they hit a home run with the 4th ...IMO...the 98 to 2002 camaros are the hot ticket....they won't be "redone"...and that's my point why they have real value potential...a good example is the 69 mach 1 mustang..would you really spend the money on 40 year old when you can have the "modern version cobra" which will outperform the old stang in every way....

Which Ferrari are you talking about it? Sorry but I'm sure the Camaro can go 180 stock. Add the Magnacharger on that engine, I wouldn't doubt it can go 200-210 perhaps. The handling on the camaros are not all that bad, and I'm sure an FXX can out handle it but you dont even specify which Ferrari is better and the Brembo brakes are not exactly easy to top. The Camaros have a very nice set of brakes. Do you actually know anything about the new Camaros?

GM never used LT1s in 3rd gens.
and yes people do spend that much on vintage mustangs, its not only about performance. age, nostalgia, styling and rarity contribute to the value of vintage cars. otherwise people wouldnt be paying jackshit for them because they are crap.

..ok..3rd gen camaros ..had 4 cylinder , v6 and v8...5litre (305 ci) the 5.7 was the L98..in '92 the last year of the 3rd gen..had in special order police packages (BC4)LTI borrowed from the corvettes..the LT1 was continued into the 93 to 97 "early 4th gen. camaro and firebird"...the camaros I consider "choice" are 98 to 02 models..because of the LS1 and the redesigned frontend..so I stand corrected to a point but the last year of 3rd gen did have the the LT1 with the tuned port injection..these motors were a great improvement ..but no comparisson to the LS1 which really is a 6 bolt main all aluminim racing engine..detuned in public vehicles to an underated 300 plus horsepower..as for sinking big bucks into early mustangs or camaros..well she's a matter of preference...but once you try to bring the level of performance ie. brakes, engine, tranny fuel delivery..you now have a clone..which is ok too ...it's all a matter of preference..and a fat wallet...
