with my stock lid, is it b etter to buy like a aftermarket one like slp or can i manipulate my stock lid ???

I have heard of people cutting out the baffles in the stock lid for better flow.
Personally I bought an SLP lid just because it cleans things up in the engine compartment. Fitment was good and nothing to disrupt air flow.

Its a cheap enough mod to just not take a chance. Sometimes, when we hack and cut at things we may not make it as clean as we think. We may actually not improve anything.
...just a thought!

just buy the SLP lid and be done with it. in the future if you sell the car you can take it off and put the stock one back on...

also, i don't think it's just the little fins. the different, simpler shape of the aftermarket lids reduces turbulence, too.
