Black- 1999 Camaro SS
AC Delco Filter # ?
Hi, I just purchased a 99 SS Camaro First thing I want to do is change is the oil and filter. I called the Chevy dealer and they told me that the number I needed was PF 44 and no longer made them and I could use a PF 46 but not in stock. Called Advance and they said they had one but it was a AC Delco PF 46 E. What's up with the E ? Is this the right filter? Thanks, Bob

Below is a list of filters that work with the LS1 that was previously posted in the forum along with specific notes about the differences. Sorry but not sure what the E designation on the filter you found means. Probably no significant difference. I'm also a big fan of WIX filters, number 51042 fits your application. You'll notice there are no Fram filters listed. Cut one open to see how they are constructed and you'll never buy another one.
Brand Part Number
AC Delco Ultraguard Gold UPF58*
Mobil 1 M1-206**
Mobil 1 (Stock Size) M1-107
AC Delco PF58***
AC Delco (Stock Filter) PF44
* Larger than filter PF44 and offers better filtering than the PF58 (will hold 1/4 quart more of oil than the PF44 filter)
** Larger than filter M1-107 (will hold 1/4 quart more of oil than the M1-107 filter)
*** Larger than filter PF44 (will hold 1/4 quart more of oil than the PF44 filter)

I run a wix filter. Just go to O'reillys and tell them what kind of car you have and they will set you up.
