99 SS- Some questions

Hi There-

I just got back from looking at 99 SS that is for sale locally, and I'm going back to drive it tonight. It is Black/ Black cloth, T-Top, 6 speed. Guy says it has SLP Lid, Short Shifter, exhaust (4 tip center outlet), Auburn Limited Slip (w/4.10 gears recently added). He is asking $14.5K, and I'm thinking about offering 12 or 12.5.....yay or nay?

With the 4.10 rear he said it whines just a bit between 50-70 mph. Is this normal? I'll see how bad it is later but I was just wondering what I should listen for. Also, anything else I should be looking for that could be bad?

How many miles are on it for starters?

I just sold my 98 with 19k miles on it for $14,250 and after I let it go I had a few more offers for a little more for it. So depending on the miles 12 or 12.5 could be a good buy.

the wine is normal after gear install but not to loud.. sounds like a decent deal if under 65k miles for 12.5
