I put a $500 deposit on an SS vert yesterday (8-30). It'll be a year til I get it though as the vert won't be out till 9-09.

I want a Silver with black stripes SS. They can't order it just yet as I want a vert and they don't come out til 2010 MY. The deposit put's me 1st on their list when they do order them. I could have ordered a mid year (2009) car but no convertible. In about 5 or 6 months (give or take as the salesman said) Chevy will start taking orders for 2010.

This isn't unusual these days. I have a few friends that bought the new Challenger and they put deposits down 1 year before it arrived.
