2009/10 camaro look lik its gonna b heavy!!! check this link out!!

Look like the 09/10 camaro is going to be based off the holden commodore which is basically the same basic plan for the gto when it was in production look like it might end up with a ls2 6.0 based on the commodore they have out now. i checked there website just put holden into google search. i hope this is not the case but read this article and tell me what u think.>>>http://www.edmunds.com/il/chevrolet/camaro/index.html#

Not looking forward to the independent rear. Independent rears are for comfort not performance.

I had read once before, in Motor Trend that they aproximated it's final weight to be 3400lbs... but I think that was before they anounced that it would be IRS ... so I guess it'll be a little bit of a pig...

Listen, all performance cars these days have to have some comfort in there. IRS isnt better for straight line racing but its great if you want to play around on some corners ites great. People who buy these 35,000-40,000 sports cars arent kids getting like 300.00 a month car loans. These are older more established people who want a solid yet powerful machine.

different suspension goodies, different brackets and all kinds of links, not to mention that you lose more power thru IRS because of so much more moving parts

Its not that big of a difference, the ls1 vettes dyno just slightly under the ls1 f-bodys. like 5-8rwhp.

Talk with Sarge about how much money it takes to make a IRS hold up to big power. WHo the hell cares about comfort when your talking about Pure Fucking Muscle.

Yeah but like i said its not gonna be a whole bunch of straight up muscle guys willing to spend 38000 on a car that you will just rip apart and build up anyway. Its not directed towards the those people. If you dont like talk to GM not us. Sure there wil lbe some younger guys who will get them and make them baller. I see alot more stock corvettes than i do highly modded ones.

SHit I see guys take 80K Z06's and spend 20K like it is nothing on them. A 30-40K car want be shit for people to mod, but it's just the fact that there is more moving components to move and break.

Yes you do see people doing that, but you cant tell me you as many modded vettes to bone stock ones that people use for weekend drivers. Around here i see more bolt on F-bodys then stock, but 80% of vettes i see are stock. I didnt say noone will build the shit outta them, besides if they did use live axle its not like it would be a setup holding 800rwhp anyway.

Dont get me wrong i love launch with live axle, i recently switched my supra over to it. Soo much easier to launch 517rwhp with live axle.

I'll get a stroker and supercharge it. I know my 9" can handle the power.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new design. But why IRS? AGH!!! Camaro's have always had a solid axle why get away from its heritage. Keep the IRS in the vette.

    Sadly now demodded :(

IRS or not, heavy champ or not mine will be a DD cruiser. I've got the 1st gen BBC/TH400/4.10 car and/or the 02 to further modify if I want to go fast.

Meh, I'm just going to go with a C7 when they're released. It'll be around the same time that I re-enllist (extra cash to blow) AND the stock, base model will probably be that S/C 6.2 475+hp everyone's raving over.

I can't see myself getting a Camaro. There will be a ton of them on the road, and that takes away a lot of the appeal for me. I have to be one of the few, never one of the many.

IRS can be a huge benefit on handling in twisties, which is very important to me. I hadn't thought about getting big power to hook up through them. but i won't modify it until later on in it's life. Am i wrong on the handling part. Straight line is cool but we don't have any of those here in WV.

I completely expcet a 3700-3900 pound car, Hell the mustang is 4,000 I'd say it will be lighter with more power.

It's a sexy ass beast any way you look at it. But no way it will replace my lust for a WS6 that car i can mod allll i want!
