2001 SS factory zo6 block/heads

Hey guys,

I was told that 8% of the 01's and 02's have a zo6 block and heads and this is somehow verifiable. Does anyone have any more info on this because I am looking to purchase a 2nd one.

Block-yes..heads...NO! None of the Camaros came with the LS6 heads, although some of the above mentioned cars did have the LS6 block. There was (is) no real advantage to the LS6 block other than the passages in the block. By advantage, I mean HP, in other words, same bore, stroke, rods, pistons etc...

What he said ^. If we had LS6 blocks and LS6 heads then we woul've had the first factory LS6 Fbody. Oh well, wishful thinking.....

All 01s and 02s had the LS6 intake manifold, maybe thats what you were thinking about...

Two different casting methods were being used (for the alumimun block). One in Mexico, the other in Canada. The better method was retained (canada). It was said it was good for 10 hp, because of modifications to oiling of the main bearings. Mexico was phased out. LS6 block is canadian.
