1999 camaro SS Question? A4 or M6

I have seen alot of people say they have an M6 or A4 car i might sound stupid but what does that stand for, is it a better camaro engine or more power? How can i tell what mine is other than an SS? thanks for everybody help!!!!!!!

M6=T-56=Manual Transmission

A4=4l60E=Automatic Transmission

Glad to help and don't feel stupid. Everyone always wonders what it means, I remember several years ago when I didn't know, I kept wondering what it meant too.

I always thought it was a prefered equipment group. The men picked the M6 option and the girls picked the A4 equipment group. Damn, learn something every day.

lol.. i wondered at one point also, saw somone say the m6 has no problem lighting up the tires through gears so i just assumed it was more power.. but while were on asking what does "vert" mean?
