1998 Z-28 Overheating
My '98 Z-28 just started overheating about two days ago. Temp shoots up to 265 after about 20 minutes of driving...had to get home from work and took my time to let it cool down. Both fans are working, flushed the radiator. It had about 111,000 miles on it. Any common overheating symptoms for the Z? Any thoughts on why?

111,000 miles...... Have you had time to check the thermostat? If the radiator fluid wasn't maintained it could have buildup which prevents it from opening all the way to permit flow. This usually happens from running a "water rich" solution". A flushing may or may not remove the residue depending upon how bad it has become. Just something else to consider as I have experienced this and seen it many times in the past.

Hot Z
I have it at the shop now. I am hoping it's the thermostat. I tried to replace it, but the cheap ass bolt snapped - should be fun to get out.

I actually just had a very simular problem in my '98. I replaced water pump, therm, and still had problem. Culprit was the radiator cap. I strongly suggest Replacing cap also. My Z has 125,000. Good luck

I'll do the radiator cap too while it's in the shop along with the water pump just to make sure.
Thanks for the advice!
