When David purchased his Corvette, some 20-plus years ago, it was barely running and in anything but show worthy trim. His first order of business was to make it driveable, and rather than spend an exorbitant amount on paint; he simply stripped the original coat and sprayed it with primer, giving it a rat rod feel even before it was popular. It was only six years ago that Graves got busy and started building his dream car. His drivetrain of choice features a GMPP 350 Ram Jet, a Tremec five-speed, and a 3.08:1 posi rearend. To deal with the Texas heat, a complete Classic Auto Air system blows cool with a flick of a switch. Underneath, it's supported by the original kingpin suspension with Fatman Fabrications drop spindles, including disc brakes on all four corners. When it came to the shiny stuff, only Cascade Green would do. Inside, the fully restored gauges keep him up to date on critical engine vitals and according to Graves, "the most enjoyable part of owning this Corvette is driving the backroads of Texas with the top down!" Nice ride, buddy, very nice.
