    1/4 mile question

This is my first post on here so im going to try and not sound to stupid. i have an 01 Z28 A4 hotchkis rear suspension mods, pacesetter longtubes, slp cats, pacesetter y pipe and flowmaster exhaust, and a diablosport tune, the rear is stock with 2.73 cogs i had the car dynoed about a week ago its got 369 hp and 430 tq what would my 1/4 mile time be and for xmas im might be getting a new set of rear end gears 3.42, how much of a differance would there be?

    First off, welcome to LS1.com.

    Is that motor stock internally??
What kind of dyno did you dyno on? Those numbers are awfully high for a stock internal LS1 with bolt-ons.

Do you have a stall converter yet? That will knock the most off your 1/4 mile time.
I will take a guess judging by your mods, not your dyno numbers. Will the stock gears and stock stall, I think 13.3-13.5.
Tire plays a role as well.

as far as i know its stock internals, and stock stall, the only things other than what i metioned before is a k&n powershot filter msd wires and ngk iridium plugs. its a mustang dynamometer, the sheet says max power with wcf 369.1 @4919 rpm and max torque with wcf 430.7 @ 4731 rpm. btw what is WCF? my car pic should be on my profile

and hp is 358 that seems to make a little more sense to me

You should be able to run twelves with those bolt ons. My buddy had a stock Z28 with 2.73 gears that ran a best of 13.2.

    WCF = Weather Correction Factor
At least that is what I found with a quick search.

Honestly, you numbers sound really high. More so being on a Mustang Dyno.
Could be that the dyno operator had a different weight entered or something, or maybe the car that was on the dyno before you was boosted. Couple be all kinds of things.
Including your car not being internally stock.

weight is 3800 as on the sheet, the car that was on before my car was a 1966 six banger mustang. i dont think the internals have been touched, i asked chevy when i bought it becaise of a rear main leak they told me it was stock, but idk. will there be a differance between 2.73 and 3.42?

    Power difference? Very little.

Performance difference? I would certainly think so. Shorter gears will get that torque to the pavement better.

I think you would be better off with 3.73 gears instead of the 3.42

No way you're making 400+ ft lbs with stock internals. I'm only making 350 ft lbs with a torquer v3.

Your car is modded more than what you think.

The huge torque number is the convertor spike. What RPM is the peak torque #?

yeah unless you burned out pretty bad that sounds like some typical times on street tires,

    also what was your mph??

btw i agree with these guys there is no way you put down that much power and only ran a 8.7

my stock 02ss runs consistent 8.5's on street tires

that time was before the rest of the exhaust mods, the humididty might have had a factor. i dont remember the mph sorry, last time i ran at the track was about month and a half ago. what kind of torque converter would you people recommend?

isnt a 4k stall a little high i was thinkin 2500, maybe 3k that and 3.73 gears would get me into 12s?

4k is pretty big for the streets. 2500 isn't big enough and 3k probably wouldn't be enough either. You probably want about a 3500 stall.

3600 stalls are fairly streetable anymore.
