$$$ What's it worth? $$$
Hello,
I'm new to the LS1 world. I am in the market for a toy and came across this one in my neck of the woods. What would you say this car is worth? I've seen it in person and the paint is awesome, interior is OK and has original wheels.
I don't know if the owner is a member here. I'm just trying to get an honest second opinion and not trying to pick someone's pride and joy apart.

Its hard to say what a car that heavily modded is worth because kbb values dont consider mods so it would have to be an agreement between owner and buyer. He def. has alot of money put in it, does he have an asking price? The kbb on that car is probably a few thousand under 10k depending on mileage, make sure it is a real SS car too and not a z28 w/ss badging that would add or take away from the value, given the kbb and consideration for the mods personally i would keep my offers in the 13k-16k,you couldnt build it for that but i couldnt give someone anymore than 16k for a 98 camaro no matter what they have done to it,just my opinion though, talk with the owner and see what his bottom dollar is and go from there ony if you think its worth more or less to you, good luck!!!

Thanks for your input Brandon.
His asking price is $17500...I'm thinking $15K at the most, I may go drive it tomorrow.
I just saw the dyno: 718hp 730tq (all at the wheels) at 5200rpm's before breaking the tires loose! The dyno tech said it's probably closer to 775hp...

That would def. be an awesome car to have. You can probably talk him down on his asking price though but go drive it and check it out and offer him what you think its worth because you cant really go by book value on that car since you have to consider all the mods, good luck on getting it!!

It is worth what someone will pay for it...
No auto value guide takes modifications into consideration. In fact, most say modding a car decreases the value because you are limiting your market to a select group of people who are looking for that.
With that being said, $17k seems a little high... but it's not far off. I wouldn't be upset if I walked away with the car for $16.5k. But it is your perception of value that will determine what you will think is fair.
Good luck.

Thanks for adding your thoughts. I just don't know the value of modded F-bodies in todays market so this info helps. I am looking at Buick T-Type turbo cars and those cars with similar power and condition are in the same price range but they are more collectable.
Thanks again.

Not sure I would trust a 1998 LS1 block with 800 rwhp........in fact I wouldnt. Unless it was an LSX block I would stay WELL AWAY.
